Guidelines For Adding and
Releasing Players
Non-Qualified Teams
§

A player shall not
compete in any sanctioned
tournament of the association with more than one team during the same
tournament. Once a player is added to a
roster and the team subsequently qualifies for State or World Series
Tournaments, player will be subject to the “Qualified Team” guidelines
below
once the roster is frozen.
§
Rosters are frozen based
on the following
scheduled; For
teams qualifying between August 1 and November 30 rosters will be
frozen
November 1. For teams qualifying between
December 1 and July 31 rosters will be frozen June 1.
Players are free to be added and released
freely until this time. Once rosters are
frozen, players will remain on the first qualified team roster and
disappear
from all other rosters.
***Note: The player may not
return to their original team until the next season.

Teams exceeding 20
players must register again,
pay sanction fees and forfeit berths.
Teams Qualified for State, Regional, or World Series
§
Roster is frozen
effective June 1.
§
No player from another
qualified team roster may
be added
§
After roster is frozen
and prior to the State
Tournament, a maximum of three (3) players may be added to a team’s
roster, to
replace players lost due to injury, relocation, or release, provided
the team’s
remaining roster is fifteen (15) players or less. Three
(3) players may be released. Deadline for adds
and/or releases to the State Director is 10 days prior to the State
Tournament.

All roster additions
must be submitted online
and approved by the USSSA State Director or Regional Director. Tournament Directors will be able to view the adds online. Coaches
are required to have the original signed
roster copy with them
at all times, and may be checked by the Tournament Director or State
Director.

Deadline for additions
is per USSSA rule book..
§
Penalty – The Coach
could be suspended for up to
two (2) years for an ineligible player.
Disbanded Team
§
Disbanded team is a team
that by choice has
decided not to participate in USSSA tournaments for the remainder of
the
calendar year. Listed Manager must
notify State Director by letter or email of their intentions. Once a team has disbanded, all players are
effectively released to play on other teams. Any
qualified or non-qualified team may legally add
the players from a
disbanded team that has qualified for a State or World Series berth. This will be considered a release for
purposes of the release rule.

Note: No team may disband for the purpose of
releasing players to play on another qualified team roster after the
player add
deadline for that tournament. Deadline
to disband is June 1 and November 1.
