Clarification
Active Team
·

with USSSA
·
Team’s should have
rosters online to be active
and complete
Disbanded Team
·
Disbanded team is a team
that by choice has
decided not to participate in USSSA tournaments for the remainder of
the
calendar year. Listed Manager must
notify State Director by letter or email of their intentions. Once a team has disbanded, all players are
effectively released to play on other teams. Any
qualified or non-qualified team may legally add
the players from a
disbanded team that has qualified for a State or World Series berth. This will not be considered a release for
purposes of the release rule. Players
may subsequently be released one time.

Teams should disband
once it is decided that the
team as a whole will no longer continue participating in softball
events.
·
No team may disband for
the purpose of releasing
players to play on another qualified team roster after the player add
deadline
for that tournament.
·
Deadline to disband is
June 1 for Summer and
November 1 for Fall Ball.
Suspended Team
·
Teams not in good
standing with USSSA
·
Teams may be suspended
for the actions of
coaches and/or parents who owe USSSA officials any money or for
unsportsmanlike
conduct.
Temp Team
·
Temp team is a team
which wants to use players
from multiple teams to participate in USSSA travel ball for a temporary
time
period because other players of the original teams are participating in
high
school softball, and not eligible to participate in USSSA events. This allows the players to obtain tournament
experience while some of the players are playing on high school rosters.
·
Temp team is identified
by adding the word
“temp” to the team name at registration.
·
Temp teams may only be
classified 14A. Players on temp teams must
assume “A” player
classification for the entire calendar year.
·
Players may come from
any number of teams.
·
Temp teams must disband
by June 1. Listed coach sends email to
USSSA State
Director. All players are released and
allowed to be added to their regular team roster. New
teams then register with the regular team
names.
·
No temp teams in Fall
Ball.
