Flooded Fields ??
This Spring's rain storms have been impacting many events.  Even with big thunderstorms
this past Friday and Saturday, we played our Friendly games at Freedom Park on Sunday.
DF Softball is motivated and committed to getting our fields in playing condition for
our events.
2010 Tournament Schedule Posted
We have our preliminary 2010 Tournament Schedule Posted.  Several Rec Depts have yet to complete their 2010 schedules and we will be adding tournaments as we confirm our use of fields.

New Event Added - May 15-16 in Dixon with CA Tornadoes as the Co-Host for this tournament
We will not host a tournament at Freedom Park on this weekend

Emily Toy Memorial Tournament - June 5-6
DF Softball and East County Hot Shots will be hosting the First Annual
Emily Toy Memorial Tournament on June 5-6 in Sacramento. 
Emily was a pitcher on the Hot Shots 10U team and became ill while playing during the
Memorial Day Tournament last year.   Emily bravely fought the infection in her body for
3 weeks before she lost her battle.  We invite your team to join us in remembering
and celebrating Emily's spirit of playing softball.
2010 High School Tournaments
Natomas High and DF Softball will be hosting High School Tournament on April 2-3.
The Natomas Feb 26-27 tournament has been postponed to this coming weekend.

2010 Freedom Park Weeknight League
We are now taking sign ups for our 2010 Weeknight League at Freedom Park.
Spring Session for 10's, 12's and 14's will begin the week of March 3.
Summer Session for 10's, 12's and 14's will begin the week of April 28
A Summer Session for 16's, 18's and 18Elites will begin on May 27

Senior Division Classifications
 iFA National Tournaments
There have been some questions about how iFA will be classifying the 18Elite and 18U divisions.  All college players at any level must play in the 18Elite Division.   We will also have an 18A and 18B classification.  Brackets for each individual event will depend upon the teams that enter.  We will split out divisions whenever we can.

All 16U divisions including Elite, 16A, and 16B will be pitching from 43' in 2010.
 18Elite - July 27 - Aug 1 - Beaumont, TX
16Elite - July 27 - Aug 1 - Beaumont, TX
16/18A & B - July 19-25 Joplin, MO
10/12/14A - July 19-25 - Mustang, OK
  10/12/14B - July 21-25 - Broken Arrow, OK

Our West Coast World Series Tournament will be held on July 21-25 in the Stockton Area with Sacramento as additional fields.

To qualify - 10's, 12's and 14's must play in 2 iFA qualifiers.  14U with HS players, 16 and 18's must play in 1 iFA qualifier.
Cassidy Sidhu
Cassidy Sidhu of the Folsom Freedom Parks 12U team has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.  Cassidy will begin treatments at UCSF this week.

We've Installed 200' Fences At Freedom Park
Coaching strategy has now changed at Freedom Park.  We have installed the 200' Enduro temporary fence system on all 4 of our fields.
